Biography

Daniel Soper was born in Croydon. For five years he was a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral, finishing as assistant head chorister. Having sung at St. Mary's church, Caterham, for a few years, he was then appointed organ scholar at Croydon Parish Church. He stayed there for two and a half years, while doing his GCSEs and A levels at Trinity School, Croydon. During this time, he also played the organ at St. Michael's church, Croydon.

He then took a gap year as organ scholar at Chelmsford Cathedral. While at Chelmsford, he gained a large amount of experience in choral accompaniment, and this was complimented by being the rehearsal accompanist for the Hutton and Shenfield Choral Society.

He is now junior organ scholar at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he is reading music.

He has played the organ in concerts and services for The Garland Singers, Sanderstead Singers and The Carshalton Choral Society.

As well as the organ, Daniel plays the tuba, which he started whilst at Canterbury, and continued at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. Although he doesn't claim to be any good at it, he is always willing to play when needed.

Apart from music, his other hobbies are mostly related to computers, and he enjoys creating little websites, like this.
